Lately I've been feeling the need to go to church....and no hell hasn't frozen over since the last time I checked. My life as I view it, is pretty great, I'm in good health, I'm employed, I have great friends and family who support my shenanigans whether they agree with it or not, the prince is healthy and doing great in school, but something is still missing. Don't get me wrong, God is part of my everday life, I pray daily, he and I have lengthy conversations and some disagreements you know the usual, who's will is better....usually it's his about any and all topics, but I still feel like something is missing. So I decided to test drive a couple churches.
So last Sunday, the prince and I visited a church that was recommended by a friend. She raved about how it was small and home-like, the pastor was great.... a place where everyone knows your name. Before I continue, you need to know that I was brought up Catholic and Catholic churches only last for one hour, and that includes the aerobic session.
Church started at 10:30 a.m., a little late for my taste but I went anyway. We were greeted by two ushers, and the prince promptly asked, "What times does church end, does it end at 11:30?" I sure did raise him well. We found a couple seats in the back, but apparently we both looked like two fishes out of water because the entire church introduced themselves to us.
Once church offically started and after the announcements, there was a singing portion, which by the way lasted an entire hour, who sings for an hour before the actual sermon. By the time that portion of the show ended, they were moving on to the skit portion, this took another half an hour. And by the time the pastor started the actual sermon, the prince had had enough, he was ready to go and so was I, it was almost 12 noon.
Needless to say, I don't think this is the right church for us, I didn't get the fuzzies, so onto the next one. Another Sunday, another church invasion.

I told you that you didn't ask the right people about churches. You can't ask people that go to church for 4 hours for church advise. Start off by saying, "How long is your church service?". And go from there.
